The Flow of Energy is an artwork created by Jacinta Anderson, a proud Noongar Yorga Aboriginal woman from Minang country - Mount Barker, Western Australia. The blue colours in the artwork are reflective of the deep sea, the warm orange and browns are representative of the rich soil and the greens illustrate the flourishing land. The foreground art depicts the vibrant energy form country and the growth potential which is represented by the connection of the energy circles. The background circle art in the display represents the positive flow of energy and the U-shaped symbols represent the People which are placed on the outside of the design as observers and carers of energy.
Kaya - Hello, my name is Jacinta Anderson. I want to share a little about myself and my art journey. I am a proud Noongar Yorga Aboriginal woman from Minang country - Mount Barker, Western Australia. My art journey came to life when I used it as a coping mechanism during the COVID-19 pandemic. I started off doing Aboriginal artwork on chopping boards, and once I got more confident I started painting on canvas. Within my role, we used art to teach our Indigenous girls about our culture and how to express themselves through art. I love expressing my culture through my art, especially using Aboriginal symbols.
