Managed by Invest and Trade Western Australia, the Western Australian (WA) Export Awards is an annual program that celebrates the achievement of WA businesses exporting home-grown innovation to the world.

Launched in 1988, the WA Export Awards provides a platform to raise the profile of the State’s industry sectors and export capabilities whilst acknowledging the success of WA exporters and their achievements in the international market. 

Last financial year the value of WA’s goods exports was $275.1 billion which accounts for 46% of Australia’s total goods exports.

Businesses can apply in 13 award categories which showcase the State's diverse range of exports:

• Advanced Technologies;
• Agribusiness, Food and Beverages;
• Creative Industries;
• e-Commerce;
• Emerging Exporter;
• International Education and Training;
• International Health;
• Manufacturing and Advanced Materials;
• Minerals, Energy and Related Services;
• Professional Services;
• Regional Exporter;
• Small Business; and
• Sustainability and Green Economy.

In September this year, the Western Australian Export Awards 2024 Gala Dinner will be held to announce the 13 category winners and the WA Exporter of the Year for 2024. Those businesses which take home the top prize in each category will then advance to the Australian Export Awards later this year in Canberra to compete for the National title.

In 2023, AVI took home the title of WA Exporter of the Year and went on to be a finalist in the Advanced Technologies category of the Australian Export Awards.
