Energy sector delegates flock to Perth for industry events

Over 6000 energy sector participants were welcomed to Perth for the AOG Energy and Australia and Southeast Asia Forum on Carbon Capture Storage (CCS) 2024 events.  

International Delegate Briefing ahead of AOG Energy 2024

International participants were invited to attend the Invest and Trade Western Australia International Delegate Briefing, which provided a high-level overview and familiarisation of Western Australia, promoted ITWA and highlighted the projects and opportunities available in the State.  


The event, held on Monday 11 March, showcased Western Australian food and wines and a local Koala was brought along for guests to meet. 

The Hon Reece Whitby MLA, Minister for Energy; Environment; Climate Action, also attended the event and provided a speech highlighting the energy sector within Western Australia.

Rebecca Brown, Director General, Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation also provided a Western Australian Economic Overview. 

Carbon Capture Storage Forum 

The 2024 Australia and Southeast Asia Forum on CCS, hosted by Global CCS Institute, provided an opportunity for Institute members and CCS proponents to network, share knowledge on key issues, and discuss CCS within the context of the regional transition to net-zero carbon emissions.  

Global CCS Institute is an international think tank with a mission of accelerating the deployment of CCS to tackle climate change and progress towards climate neutrality.  

The reception, held at Doubletree by Hilton Perth Waterfront on Sunday 10 March, was led by Invest and Trade Western Australia’s Executive Director Daisy Pope, who provided a welcoming speech.
