Showcasing WA at London International Food and Drink Event 2024
Between March 24-27, 13 Western Australian businesses participated in the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) held in London, UK. The mission provided WA businesses with a platform to find new buyers, make international connections, stay updated on industry trends, and gather insights to adapt their offerings for the UK market.
IFE 2024 was held at ExCel London and hosted over 27,000 attendees and 1,500 international exhibitors from 102 countries. The event set the stage for 13 WA businesses to present premium WA agrifood products, including:
- Honey
- Seafood - lobster, prawns and Patagonian Toothfish
- Beverages - wine and beer
- Condiments
- Seasoned breadcrumbs
- BBQ rubs and sauces
- Fruit and vegetables
Western Australia’s participation in the event was a result of collaboration between Invest and Trade WA (ITWA) Perth hub, ITWA United Kingdom Office and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD).
WA Minister for Agriculture and Food, Jackie Jarvis, DPIRD Deputy Director General, Cec McConnell, and Australia's High Commissioner to the UK, Stephen Smith, attended the event and visited the WA stand.
The DPIRD team also helped to promote and facilitate a pre-IFE Austrade business program with market briefings and site visits for WA businesses to connect with potential partners and gain valuable market knowledge.
