Ambassador and special guests hosted at South Korea and Western Australia: Our Strong Partnership dinner
Invest and Trade Western Australia hosted the South Korea and Western Australia: Our Strong Partnership dinner as part of the Invest and Trade Western Australia Connect series and to welcome His Excellency Kim Wan-joong, Ambassador to the Republic of Korea on his first visit to Perth.
A curated dinner was held to honour the longstanding and deeply important relationship between Western Australia and South Korea.
Attendees of this special event included the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Australia, His Excellency KIM Wan-joong, Deputy Premier Roger Cook MLA, Honorary Consul of Korea in Perth, Ms Faye Duda and Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation Director General, Rebecca Brown PSM.
The prestigious guest list was a testament to the longstanding relationship.
In recognition of the strong ties, elements of both cultures were featured during the night. A bespoke menu was served featuring Western Australian produce with Korean influences.
The evening included a wonderful performance from Korean Traditional Culture and Arts Community Inc, to reaffirm the strong partnership and much-valued friendship enjoyed by WA and South Korea.
The Western Australian Government is committed to deepening ties with our South Korean partners. The dinner follows the successful mission led by the Premier to South Korea earlier this year, where the Western Australian Government signed a Letter of Intent with South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
South Korea is identified as a key market under Western Australia’s Asian Engagement Strategy 2019-2030 - Our future with Asia.
