China LNG partners touch down in Perth!

Western Australia and China have shared a strong partnership in the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) sector under the Australia China Natural Gas Technology Partnership Fund.
The Fund was established as part of a historic agreement for Australia to supply LNG to China over 25 years. Its partners include the Commonwealth Department of Industry, Science and Resources, North West Shelf Joint Venture, the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) and China’s National Energy Administration (NEA).

The Fund’s activities are aimed to establish long-term partnerships within the energy sector that increase knowledge and skills (particularly in the Natural Gas and LNG industry) and enhance the relationship between Australia and China.
Between 20-24 November 2023, JTSI welcomed a 12-member delegation, led by Mr Han Yuzhu, Deputy Director General, NEA, to Perth for the Fund’s 21st Working Group Meeting.
The NEA delegation also attended meetings with Commonwealth agencies and industry partners, as well as visited South Metropolitan TAFE, the ATCO Clean Energy Innovation Hub and the University of Western Australia’s Future Energy Exports Cooperative Research Centre.
