Tantalising Western Australian products and WA’s innovative food and beverage industries were on the world stage recently at FOODEX JAPAN – Asia’s leading food and beverage tradeshow.

Held in Japan’s Tokyo Bay area, FOODEX JAPAN was the place to be for potential buyers of premium WA products, attracting more than 50,000 high quality buyers and over 10,000 international buyers.

Western Australia’s pristine waters, vast landscapes and clear sunny skies see a bounty of premium food and beverages produced locally.

Western Rock Lobsters, Tiger Prawns, black truffles, Manuka and Jarrah honey, Fremantle Octopus, whisky, gin and other high-quality WA products featured at the event, with 28 WA companies taking part.

Honey tasting was one highlight, with other exhibited products including WA corn, avocados, shrimp and lobster, olive oil, honey and truffle products, beans and premium beverages including craft beers.

Team members at the well-stocked WA event booth welcomed Australian Ambassador to Japan, Ms Jan Adams AO PSM on the first day of the event. The team was thrilled to take the Ambassador on a culinary journey of WA, highlighting the wealth of WA products, businesses and opportunities on offer. 

The WA booth also attracted a large number of potential buyers from around the world, all highly interested in WA products and doing business with WA.

WA’s FOODEX JAPAN feature was a collaboration between the WA Government’s Tokyo Office, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA and Austrade.
