About the program

SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 is one of Japan's largest global startup events with the aim of realising sustainable cities through open innovation together with startups, and is hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

Running from 15-16 May, the SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 Global Startup Program looks to create 'sustainable new values' by overcoming common global urban issues such as population growth, energy and environmental concerns, and ageing infrastructure. The program will feature keynote sessions, pitch contests, booth exhibitions, and business matching opportunities.

Invest and Trade Western Australia will sponsor 4 companies to participate in the SusHi Tech Tokyo Global Startup Program.

Who should apply?

Western Australian Small and Medium Enterprises who operate in the following areas:

  • Infrastructure, mobility
  • Energy, GreenTech, Climate Tech
  • Health and Medical Technology
  • FinTech
  • EdTech
  • AgTech
  • Sports Tech

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • have a product or service;
  • be engaged in a business that has a significant social or economic impact;
  • have a plan to pursue opportunities for collaboration and investment with the aim of global expansion;
  • be able to exhibit on site for the entire 2-day event;
  • have in principle, the shareholding by a large company or large group be less than 50%

SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 is Asia's largest and Japan's only global innovation conference. The event seeks to create 'new encounters' with both domestic and international startup ecosystems to solve common global urban issues.

Spanning 2 days in May, SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024 looks to create sustainable new values by leveraging diverse ideas, digital know-how, and cutting-edge technology to take on urban challenges the world will inevitably face, such as demographic change, environmental and energy concerns, ageing infrastructure and the preservation of traditional culture.
