Understanding Indonesia – export opportunities for Western Australia METS

In their first export event for 2021, Austmine partnered with the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation hosting ‘Understanding Indonesia – Opportunities for WA METS’.

The event brought together industry stakeholders and Western Australian companies to learn about the Indonesian mining sector, opportunities for WA METS companies and recent reforms to doing business in Indonesia.

Mr Nanda Avalist, Consul for Economic and Socio-Cultural Affairs from the Consulate General Republic of Indonesia in Perth, highlighted Indonesia as an important economic partner for Western Australia.

Jennifer Mathews, Investment and Trade Commissioner, delivered insights on the opportunities for WA METS companies through the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.

Panel guests Andrew Prout, President Director of PT Bis Industries; Stuart Brown, President Director of PT Coates Hire Indonesia; and Dr Maria Lantu, Global ERP Program Director, Centerra Gold Inc, Toronto Canada METS industry, gave insights and practical advice on exporting to and doing business in Indonesia.

Western Australia’s expertise in areas such as safety and mining software, artificial intelligence and robotics are strongly aligned to opportunities in the Indonesian METS sector.
