India Connect 2021
Strengthening Western Australia-India economic ties
The Western Australian Government, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in Perth, Australian India Business Council, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia, Perth USAsia Centre, Confederation of Indian Industry and the Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce, will host India Connect on Friday 1 October 2021 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
India Connect is designed to deepen Western Australia-India relations, providing a platform for meaningful discussion on investment and trade opportunities and complementary capabilities between the two regions. Keynote speakers will include His Excellency, Mr Manpreet Vohra, Indian High Commissioner to Australia and the Hon Roger Cook MLA Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade.Due to COVID-19 border restrictions, India Connect will be a hybrid event consisting of virtual and in-person presenters and guests.

Venue: Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, 21 Mounts Bay Road, Perth
11:30 - 12:00pm: Lunch session sign-in
12:00 - 1:30pm: Lunch session with keynote speakers including the Indian High Commissioner to Australia and the Deputy Premier of Western Australia
1:15 - 1:45pm: ‘Sector Connect’ session sign-in
1:45 - 3:00pm: Concurrent ‘Sector Connect’ sessions
3:00 - 4:00pm: Networking function

'Sector Connect' sessions
To deep dive into an area of strategic economic importance between Western Australia and India, attend one of the following ‘Sector Connect’ sessions.
- Batteries, Critical Minerals, Mining and Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) – how India and Western Australia can leverage their respective strengths in natural resources, technology and human capital to supply the world’s future clean energy needs.
- Primary Industries – ensuring Western Australia-India cooperation in the food and beverage sector benefits from traditional and emerging channels to market.
- International Education and Tourism – deepening our people-to-people links and increasing mutual awareness for a stronger future.
- Advanced Manufacturing and Technology – advanced manufacturing securing the future.
The sessions will feature a moderated panel of industry and government representatives from both Western Australia (in-person) and India (virtual).
In addition to attending a ‘Sector Connect’ session, delegates will be invited to stay for a 1-hour Networking function where they can engage with industry and government peers and discuss next steps to progress business opportunities.
