WA’s premium products on show at Taste WA: International Buyers’ Mission

As the first of its kind in Australia since the nation’s borders reopened, the International Buyers’ Mission brings a significant international trade delegation to Perth, the Swan Valley, Great Southern and South West with the aim of growing exports of the regions’ premium food and beverage products.

Held from 4 to 12 May 2022, the Mission is the first major tourism and trade event under the recently announced Great Southern Tourism and Trade Partnership, and the expansion of the WA Trade Partnership.

With international delegates representing Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, the Middle East, USA, Japan and Korea, more than 80 export-ready food and beverage producers from Western Australia’s regions will be showcased during the Mission.

Culinary products include Wagyu beef, seafood, truffles and truffle oils, condiments, premium spirits and wines, and more.

“The diversity and quality of the premium products from these regions is second to none, and this coordinated mission is helping to ensure our products have their place in the international market,” says Great Southern Development Commission Chief Executive Officer, Natasha Monk.

Delegate itineraries include curated buyer matching events, site visits to premium producers in each region, and a series of gastronomic events held as part of Taste Great Southern, a showcase festival for premium regional food and beverages.

The International Buyers Mission is supported by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (Invest and Trade Western Australia), Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Great Southern Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA.
